I came across this picture on my instagram and instantly connected to it because I’ve been thinking about the same thing for quite some time now.

I’ve been wanting to address this topic with as much love and understanding as I can.
I’ll start with this thought. The Word of God is a mirror for us to correct ourselves, to show us our flaws so we can work on them. It is NOT a measuring tape by which we should measure/judge the standards of others.
Often as believers in Christ, we feel the need to be so perfect, to be so righteous, that we start putting up masks in front of the world. We refuse to acknowledge that we are weak, we are human and that we too can falter.
We feel the need to project, to portray some image that is completely different from what our reality is.
I don’t know how many of you will agree to this or even acknowledge it, but this is purely my observation.
Many times we think that by portraying perfection we are being good testimonies of Christ but we don’t realise that the world can see through it. The world can differentiate between what is real and what is a portrayal.
Rather than portraying perfection, let’s truly work towards it and accept that it is OKAY that we are not perfect.
Let’s start being real because only TRUTH can lead to real freedom!
